Mrs. Jennifer Blake

Mrs. Blake began teaching at HLHS in the fall of 2002. She directs the school play and One Act, as well as coaches the Speech Team. She currently lives in Cairo with her husband Allen and son Cael. In her spare time, she co-leads the church youth group and teaches 5th and 6th grade confirmation.

Mrs. Robin Keilig
B.S. ed. LTD, Biological Sciences, Physical Education and Coaching endorsements, Concordia College—Seward, 1995
Mrs. Keilig returned to HLHS after taking a one-year leave of absence. This is her 9th year of teaching at HLHS. Mrs. Keilig has taught a variety of classes at HLHS and has coached many sports teams. She is the Head Boys and Girls Track & Field coach year.
Mrs. Keilig's family includes her husband Mike, who is a John Deere mechanic, and her two children: Ethan and Elly. Mrs. Keilig likes to spend time with her family or scrapbooking pictures of her family.

Miss Robin Seim
Robin Seim started with the 2009/2010 school year at Heartland Lutheran High School and is our music teacher. She is a graduate of Concordia University in Seward, NE.

Mr. Brian Staehr
Mr. Staehr grew up in York, NE. He was employed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church and School for seven years. Mr. Staehr graduated from Concordia University in Seward in December 1994 with a B.S in Education. After college he taught in Freistatt, MO and served as a Junior High teacher, A.D., and coach for 13 1/2 years. He also served as a Senior High Youth Director for ten years.
Mr. Staehr started teaching at Heartland Lutheran High School with the 2008/2009 school year.
Mr. Staehr met his wife Jerrita at Concordia University and was married in 1991. Their family consists of four children: Lauren, Caleb, Zachary, and Abigail. Mrs. Staehr is a teacher at Trinity Lutheran School in Grand Island.

Mrs. Jacqulyn Zehendner

Mrs. Zehendner is in her 11th year of teaching at HLHS. In that time, she has served many roles, including yearbook advisor, history teacher, and volleyball coach. She currently serves as our Guidance Counselor, National Honor Society Sponsor, and Senior Class Advisor in addition to her teaching duties. Prior to teaching at HLHS, Mrs. Zehendner taught at Sheboygan Lutheran High School in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Her family includes her husband Chuck, who is the Principal/Head Teacher at Zion Lutheran School in Worms, and her three children: Taylor, Jessica, and Colton.

Mrs. Carol Peterson
Mrs. Carol Peterson is our morning secretary and started at HLHS in 2006. In addition to her regular duties as secretary, Mrs. Peterson also coordinates our lunch program.
Mrs. Peterson has lived in Grand Island since 1976. She previously served as office manager at Trinity UMC and director of Family Ministries at St. Pauls Lutheran. Married to Loren 38 years, two grown children, two granddaughters.

Mrs. Carol Owen
Mrs. Owen provides office support during the afternoon hours and has been with HLHS since August, 2008. She and her husband, Mike, attend Peace Lutheran Church and have three children and 12 grandchildren.
